It’s no secret that the breath is a gateway to your inner wisdom and that’s why it’s one of the things you should focus on noticing first.
Your breath is a reliable thing to notice because it can tell you that something is off before your brain even catches up to what is going on.
The breath quickens, slows, feels labored, and acts a variety of other ways in different situations so not only is it a tool to help us learn our Selves but it’s also a tool that can turn things around when you’re dysregulated.
The breath and taking time to notice it (or sync it with something) sends a very important message to your nervous system.
We have time - there is not immediate threat.
That’s why this practice is so good at helping you get out of anxious loops and coming back to the present moment too.
It’s grounding and regulating.
It’s easy and doesn’t require DOING anything.
Just noticing your breath.
